Itineration Progress Report

"Sometimes it seems like we’ll never get to the field." Pam verbalized what all itinerating missionaries feel from time to time. "Mom," admonished Celeste, "Why would God call us if He wasn’t going to provide for us?" That response impressed me, not only because of its irrefutable logic and bold faith, but also because our daughter understands that she – and not just her parents – is called to the mission field.

The process of "support raising" and the inevitable waiting associated with it can be wearisome at times. On the other hand, it can be downright exciting as we see people catching a vision for what God is doing in Uganda, and as we witness God’s proving Himself faithful again and again.

We have been blessed with many opportunities to present our ministry to churches, groups, and individuals. Our support base is growing, but we still need God to raise up more people who will support this ministry as a part of their regular monthly giving.

As Pam completes her school obligation in May, she will be able to accompany Bruce on more of his trips to various interested churches.

Pre-Field Training

Along with waiting for the rest of our support pledges to come in, Mission to the World is requiring us to attend two training conferences. "Pre-Field Training" focuses on living and working in a foreign culture, language acquisition, and team building. This training occurs in Ghent, Belgium and takes up the whole month of July. "Living in Grace" addresses the spiritual dimension of missionary life and work. This is a one-week conference held in the Atlanta area in September.

Please pray that these times will be helpful and not just "hoops to jump through."

Westminster

Theological College

It has been a challenging school year for the faculty at the college, since the DuBose family has been in South Carolina on Home Ministry Assignment and we have not yet arrived on the field. Thankfully, the Ugandan faculty has received some help from MTW/AIM missionary Dale Hollenbeck, who commutes 4 hours each way to teach his classes every week. In addition, the Reed family from California has pitched in with short-term help. In spite of the challenges, the ministry of the college continues to progress. For the first time this semester we have had students from Rwanda in addition to the Ugandan, Congolese and Sudanese students.

Family News

On May 14, our son Tim will graduate from Aletheia Christian Academy. As class salutatorian, he will be giving a speech at commencement. Bruce has also been asked to give the charge to the graduates. This fall Tim will be attending Covenant College in Lookout Mountain, Georgia.

With Tim’s getting settled into college and Pam’s fulfillment of her teaching contract, we will be free to leave for the field as soon as our financial support base is complete.

Praying God’s Promises for Provision

God is faithful. He always keeps His promises. Here are some of the promises of divine provision we are claiming these days. We invite you to join us in “praying them back to God.” · But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you (Matthew 6:33).

· What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? (Romans 8:31-32).

· But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19).
